A Day in Towne
The Birthplace of Memorial Day, Boalsburg Village, is where the tradition of decorating veterans’ graves began in October, 1864. Each Memorial Day the town commemorates the event by hosting “A Day in Towne” celebration. A bronzed statue of the three ladies stands in the cemetery overlooking their loved ones final resting place, where they began the tradition of “Decorating Day”.

4th Fest
Since 1927, there has been a July 4th celebration in Centre County…in 2004 people witnessed what the Travel Channel called "one of the best fireworks displays in the world". And, a celebration like this only happens with a huge commitment from the hundreds of volunteers who work to make the show a huge success each year. The Central PA 4th Fest is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with an all volunteer board and staff.

Centre County Grange Fair & Encampment
A family tradition over 130 years in the making, the Grange Fair is the largest and touted as one of the last encampment fairs in the country. It has grown to almost 1,000 tents--sites passed down to family members as prized possessions, generation after generation; 7, 000 exhibitors and more than 1300 RV’s…the fairgrounds in Centre Hall become a town within itself for the week long August event. Campers haul in sofas, rugs, lawn decorations…you name it. Competitions are sparked to see whose tent is a true home away from home! This is a must see to believe!
