Boalsburg is the birthplace of Memorial Day and the 2016 event is shaping up to be quite a weekend of remembrance.
The Memorial Day Festival is on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features food, music and craft vendors complete with two Civil War battle re-enactments at the historical Boal Mansion and Estate.
Following the festival is the annual Memorial Day Service at 6 p.m. in the adjacent Boalsburg Cemetary. Join the famous three ladies (pictured below) in honoring our soldiers.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Annual Boalsburg Memorial Day Run on Monday, May 26 starting at 8:30 a.m. The 3.8 mile course weaves through historic Boalsburg and welcomes both runners and walkers. All race proceeds benefit Boalsburg-area causes. Details on registration and parking can be found at the Nittany Valley Running Club website.
